Robert De Niro developing Bernie Madoff film for HBO
Robert De Niro may be stepping into the stinky shoes worn by Bernie Madoff.
US cable network HBO has picked up the rights to "The Wizard of Lies: Bernie Madoff and the Death of Trust" - Diane Henrique's non-fiction book which hit shelves last month - about the financial wunderkind who bilked millions from unsuspecting investors.
De Niro and his Tribeca Productions partner Jane Rosenthal will produce what is expected to be a starring vehicle for De Niro.
HBO has been in a ripped-from-the-headlines mood of late. Its movie on the 2008 financial crisis, "Too Big To Fail," airs this month, and it is shooting "Game Change," a film about the 2008 presidential elections (starring Julianne Moore as Sarah Palin), from the team behind its Emmy-winning "Recount."
Various artists premiered new singles over the weekend. Kennis Music controversial singer cum rapper, Kelly Hansome; multiple award-winning pop music sensation, P Square; Igberaga Records singer, Kleva J; and fast rising act, Yung Hanz all stormed the airwaves with new material.
Hansome maintains he is done with making beef tracks as he premieres the AY Zed-produced dance-oriented track, ‘Can't Stop Loving Me'.
Pop music sensation, P Square also reinstated their position as leading acts in mainstream music as they released two singles, the wooing ballad ‘Forever' and the celebratory ‘Bunie Ya Enu'.
Similarly, ‘Igboro ti Daru' croner, Kleva J recruited MOBO award-winning singer, 9ice on his new ‘Won Rope Oti Tan' while Roc A Lot Records' act, Yung Hanz releases ‘Roc ‘n' Roll'.
