‘I don’t joke around with my money’ – Falz shuts down show promoters

2:17 AM |
FalzTheBahdGuy has warned his fans expecting to see him at an event not to be deceived by promotional adverts of his performance, as he has not been paid for that event.

In a disclaimer, the rapper shut down an advert making the rounds by some show promoters.

‘It has come to my observation that there is a certain promotion that is ongoing concerning a certain FalzTheBahdGuy in Concert,’ he said in his faux accent.

‘At this point in time I think it’s compulsory for me to place a very cogent and magnanimous disclaimer out there, because some of my lady fans already contacted me that they cannot wait for me to grace the stage.’

Falz, who embarked on his first official UK tour in June 2016 to promote of his second studio album Stories That Touch, further said: ‘But it is unfortunate because, I will not be coming for the concert. The promoters failed to pay my money, and when it comes to my money, I don’t joke around.’

However, TheNETng reached out to a close source of the rapper who dismissed Falz’s statement as ‘not a big deal.’

It was reported that Nigerian superstar D'banj had left the Mike Adenuga led telco GLO for the rival MTN telecommunications outfit.
Later in the day D'banj confirmed these reports to be true by announcing his new venture with MTN on his Instagram page. The 'Oliver Twist' singer has entered a venture (via his record label DKM) with MTN to create a platform for creative people called Cream Platform.

"A partnership with MTN and DKM to launch a platform of Visible hope for the creative industry where Creative contents will be found , housed , financed , nurtured , published , marketed , distributed and Sold with track-able Monitoring by Content owners without leaving their comfort zones. Supported by Bank of Industry" announced D'banj on his Instagram page.

The Cream Platform kicked off yesterday and D'banj claims that over 32,000 entries were registered on it.

In 2009 D'banj signed an endorsement deal with GLO and it was reported to be worth N70m. The following year D'banj reportedly asked for more money which ultimately led to the telco dumping him and signing Psquare for a contract worth over N100m.

3 years later D'banj bumped into Chief Mike Adenuga which led to the singer re-signing with the telco. His endorsement deal with GLO has now expired and the telecommunications outfit is not enthusiastic on extending D'banj's contract.

Last month D'banj made the headlines over his supposed marriage to a mystery woman later identified as Lineo Didi Kilgrow. The pop star has not confirmed or denied that he is married.

Yvonne Nelson - “Iyanya Will Not End Well”

7:59 AM |

Iyanya and Yvonne

It is apparent that Ghanaian star actress, Yvonne Nelson, is still very bitter over her split with Nigerian singer, Iyanya Mbuk. The Nollywood actress is not in a hurry to forgive the ‘Kukere’ crooner for hurting her after she spent over 8 months of her life dating him, giving him her ‘waist’ and love. She is angry that after all she did for him, Iyanya still had the heart to leave her. The distraught Yvonne further said that her ex-lover will not end well if he continues breaking ladies’ hearts.

Iyanya needs to be more honest and be a man of his words. It’s not good if he keeps taking advantage of women. My mum always says any man who takes advantage of women won’t end up well. It’s called Karma; it’s going to come back to you. He will not end well,” the heart-broken Yvonne said. She further advised the ‘Your Waist’ singer to “treat women fairly and be an honest person.”

Nigeria wins right to host Africa Music Awards

7:44 AM |

Regional DirectorCo-Producer, Micheal Strano, Chief Executive Officer, PRM Africa and Executive Producer, AFRIMA, Mike Dada, Co-Producer, Petra Seseli, and Director, Brand Communication and Sponsorship, Matlou Tsotetsi.

Following months of intensive deliberations, Nigeria has eventually won the rights to host the Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA).

This decision was reached by the International Committee of AFRIMA in a meeting held on, Saturday October 5, 2013 at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos.

According to AFRIMA’s Brand Communication and Sponsorship Director, Matlou Tsotetsi who addressed journalists at a press conference held on Sunday, October 6, 2013 at the Four Points by Sheraton, Lagos, Nigeria was selected to host the pan- African music award, beating four other countries- Gabon, South Africa, Namibia and Kenya- because of the booming business of music in the country and its growing entertainment and event – hosting infrastructure.

‘We took a lot of factors into consideration before Nigeria was eventually considered and nominated just like we did last year in Namibia before we arrived at the last five countries’, she told journalists.
Nigeria will host the music awards for the next three years, while countries bidding to host after Nigeria will be announced in 2015.

The award ceremony which will be preceded by a two-day Pan African Music Summit will come up on Saturday, October 25, 2014 and will be broadcast live to 84 countries on 109 television stations across the world in the English and French languages.

Kenya’s Linet Munyali aka Size 8 has dropped a new video and her second gospel track after switching from secular to gospel music last year.
The video ‘Moto’ was released last weekend with Size 8 taking to twitter ‘You have been waiting for my second gospel song -this weekend its out -#MOTO (new fire for Christ) thanx for the support’.
On the song, ‘Moto’  meaning ‘the fire of Christ ‘, Size 8 dwells on sinners getting saved and the spread of the word of God using her life as an example. In other words, she has a new fire; the fire of God in her.
Sources revealed that the track produced and directed by Sammy Dee will be a remake of her hit secular single ‘Moto Fire’ but this carries the message of salvation.
Early this year, the singer released her first gospel video ‘Mateke’ directed by Prince Cam Media, which also recorded a great success.
