Beyonce throws a 'Party' with Kelly Rowland, sis Solange

3:22 AM |
Beyonce has released yet another music video, this time featuring the track "Party" from her new album "4." And there are several things we need to say about it.

To those feverish baby-bump skeptics who suspect that Mrs. Jay-Z is embellishing, or altogether faking, her pregnancy: Calm down. The pop star looks svelte in the "Party" video because it -- in all of its trailer-park sultriness -- was shot during the first week of August.

Secondly, let's repeat: trailer-park sultriness. In a glorious mess of fanny packs, headpieces, blender drinks, dice-throwing and dance circles, Beyonce reminds us that even without elaborate choreography, high fashion or cinematic elements she brings one heck of a party.

J. Cole guests, and old friends including B's sister Solange Knowles and former Destiny's Child bandmate Kelly Rowland show up for the festivities, which were shot in an actual trailer park.

Sushil Kumar becomes first contestant in the show's history to bag the titular jackpot.

2:47 AM |
The fifth season of the Hindi version of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire (Kaun Banega Crorepati) saw history made with contestant Sushil Kumar winning the 50 million rupees ($1 million) jackpot.
Just a minute with Amitabh Bachchan
'Millionaire' heading for China

Hosted by Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan, the ongoing season airs on Sony Entertainment Television's flagship Hindi channel. Kumar comes from a small town in Bihar state in eastern India, where he works for a government agency earning a meager 6,000 rupees every six months as a computer data entry operator. He becomes the first contestant to win the $1 million jackpot since the show upped its prize from 10 million rupees two seasons ago.

In 2000, during KBC's second season – which at the time aired on Star India's Star Plus channel – the show saw its first winner in Harshvardhan Nawathe, who won the 10 million-rupee jackpot.

“It feels like a dream  for someone who hasn’t seen anything beyond a couple of thousand rupees as his salary,” said Kumar, who plans to use his winnings to study further and buy a house for his extended family. “Maybe I’ll believe this when I actually watch the episode with my family on TV,” he added.

The episode featuring his win will air on Nov. 2.

“This is what the common man is all about. This is what KBC is all about -- given an opportunity, the common man has the strength, the ability and the acumen to prove to the world that he is the best and second to none,” the 69-year-old Bachchan wrote on his popular blog.

“The entire place just exploded. The family of Sushil Kumar, the contestant, not prone to any kind of public jubilation, ran on to the floor of the set in uncontrollable joy and screams and tears of happiness, whilst the live audience were whooping it up on their feet with the loudest scream I have ever heard in this 11-year association with KBC,” added Bachchan.

Ajay, Kajol and kids off to Dubai on holiday

2:40 AM |
Kajol and husband Ajay Devgn have apparently taken off to Dubai on a holiday along with their kids Nysa and Yug.

The Devgn family are apparently on a break, enjoying their Diwali holidays in Dubai. The outing is strictly a family affair, which is probably why Kajol and Ajay did not make it to Shahrukh Khan's Ra.One's Dubai première even though they were in Dubai at that time.

It must be recalled here that Kajol and Shahrukh had been very good friends in the past. However, the two have reportedly fallen apart and do not interact much with each other anymore.

However, common friend Karan Johar attended the event and had even posted positive reviews on the film Ra.One.

Obama and Leno talk Kardashians, Roscoe's Chicken

2:16 AM |
On Tuesday, President Obama made his fourth visit to "The Tonight Show." He and Jay Leno mostly stuck to meaty topics, such as the recent death of Libyan dictator Moammar Kadafi ("I think it obviously sends a strong message around the world to dictators that people long to be free") and his proposed solution to the stagnant job market ("There are some roads that could be fixed").

Eventually, though, their conversation turned to lighter subjects.

Obama spoke highly of his recent visit to Roscoe's House of Chicken 'n Waffles in West Los Angeles, where he ordered the No. 9 Country Boy special. Back in his limo, Obama gave in to the enticing aroma of the wings, even though he was on his way to a splashy fund-raising dinner. "I didn't realize it was so close. Suddenly, we pull up and I've got a spot on my tie, and I'm looking for one of those Wet Ones. It was not elegant," he said.

Leno asked what the first lady, an outspoken advocate of healthy eating, thought about the calorie-laden meal. "Michelle loves french fries, she loves pizza. Her point is, just in moderation," he explained.

However, the Obamas do disagree when it comes to Halloween. "The last few years she's been giving kids fruits and raisins. I said, The White House is gonna get egged if this keeps up."

Leno broached another highly controversial topic: "The Kardashians." "You recently said that you don't like the girls watching 'The Kardashians'?" he asked.

"I am probably a little biased against reality TV, partly because there's this program on C-SPAN called 'Congress,'" he joked, admitting that he had not actually seen any of the various Kardashian-related televisions shows. "Do you recommend it, Jay?"

Now it was Leno's turn to dodge the question. "It's a wonderful show...I don't know..." he stammered. (Apparently both the president and Jay Leno fear the wrath of the Kardashians.)

Speaking of reality television, Leno asked the president if he'd watched any of the GOP debates. He said he wasn't paying much attention to them -- yet.  "I'm going to wait until everybody's voted off the island."

Michael Lohan Arrested AGAIN

2:08 AM |
Michael Lohan was just arrested AGAIN in Florida after allegedly contacting his girl friend Kate Major -- and law enforcement said, he tried to escape by jumping a 3rd-story balcony.

According to law enforcement sources, Tampa police responded to a call early this morning from Kate, who claimed Michael had been trying to contact her by phone and wouldn't leave her alone.

We're told officers interviewed Kate at her apartment after she made the call -- the same apartment where Michael allegedly bruised her up earlier this week -- and while they were there, Michael allegedly called again.

According to law enforcement, officers believed Michael was a "threat" -- so they rolled up to his hotel to arrest him.

But here's the crazy part -- law enforcement said, Michael tried to escape by hopping his 3rd story balcony ... and he ended up falling into a tree.

After officers pulled him down, Michael was placed under arrest for violating a condition of his pretrial release (presumably for contacting Kate) ... and resisting arrest without violence.

Michael currently back in custody -- at the same jail he was released from less than twelve hours ago.

Doctors facing questions about 'Michael Jackson drug'

2:29 PM |
Doctors sometimes call the anesthesia drug by its nickname — milk of amnesia. Patients are calling it the "Michael Jackson drug."

Ever since propofol was blamed in the singer's death, patients who seldom asked or cared about what kind of sedation they were getting were suddenly peppering their doctors with questions about the potent drug.

"You won't believe how many people with their eyes wide open ask me: 'Are you going to give me the Michael Jackson drug?' They're scared to death," said Dr. H.A. Tillmann Hein, president of the Texas Society of Anesthesiologists.

While some initially balk at going under, fearing they will end up like Jackson, they come around after Hein explains that propofol, widely used for surgeries and other procedures for more than 20 years, is safe when used by a trained professional in a hospital or clinic.

Propofol gained notoriety in 2009 after an autopsy found Jackson died of an overdose. Prosecutors have accused his personal physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, of giving the 50-year-old pop icon a lethal dose at the singer's rented Los Angeles mansion.

Murray has pleaded not guilty to involuntary manslaughter. His lawyers contend the amount of propofol Murray gave him to battle insomnia while prepping for his comeback tour was too small to cause the singer's death.

While Jackson's death thrust propofol into the spotlight, the circumstances of the case are rare.

Since the drug is hard to get (it's usually kept in medical settings) and hard to use (it's injected through an IV), there's little abuse in the general public. Almost all cases of recreational propofol use and deaths involve medical professionals.

Even before Jackson died, the federal government had considered adding the drug to its roster of controlled substances amid concerns about growing abuse in the medical community.

For the past two years, anesthesiologists have tried to counter the bad rap that propofol has gotten in the Jackson case.

Before Jackson's death, less than 10 percent of patients that Dr. John Dombrowski saw asked about propofol. Now more than half do, mostly about what monitoring safeguards are in place in case problems occur.

"It's important to have this conversation so people aren't fearful," said Dombrowski, who runs the private Washington Pain Center.

While doctors are seeing more patients with questions, they say no one has refused care after they are reassured that their situations are different than those of Jackson.

About 40 million Americans undergo anesthesia each year, with the vast majority receiving propofol. Because it is fast-acting and clears quickly from the body, people can return to normal activities sooner than older anesthetics.

During the past two weeks, prosecution witnesses said Murray flouted the standard of care by giving propofol in Jackson's home to help the superstar sleep and by leaving the room while he was sedated. Propofol is not approved to treat sleep disorders.

Propofol expert Dr. Steven Shafer of Columbia University testified Wednesday for the prosecution without a fee, saying he wanted to restore public confidence in doctors who use propofol, which he called "an outstanding drug" when properly administered.

Like many anesthesiologists, Shafer said he has received questions from many patients in the operating room about whether they will receive "the drug that killed Michael Jackson."

"I get that question daily. This is a fear that patients do not need to have," said Shafer, who wrote the package insert that guides doctors in the use of the anesthetic and demonstrated to jurors the appropriate way to administer the drug.

Within the medical profession, there have been growing concerns in recent years about abuse by health care workers. Published studies have uncovered several overdose deaths and cases of medical professionals who self-administer propofol to get high.

"It takes away anxiety, fear and pain," said anesthesiologist Dr. Paul Wischmeyer of the University of Colorado, Denver, who has studied propofol abuse. "That's the draw of the drug."

The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration's proposal to make propofol a controlled substance is pending.

At UAB Hospital in Birmingham, Ala., officials are already treating propofol like other controlled drugs such as morphine and Valium by requiring stricter accounting of how it is disposed of.

Before that change went into effect eight months ago, doctors would dump leftover propofol bottles and used syringes in a biohazard container after an operation. Now the hospital requires another witness to be present to document the disposal.

Hospital officials first considered that change several years ago after reports of abuse by health care workers around the country. The Jackson case heightened awareness, chief pharmacy officer Mark Todd said.

"It got some momentum" after Jackson's death, Todd said. "It helped move it along."

On CBS' "The Mentalist," Simon Baker's character has things all figured out.

2:23 PM |
On CBS' "The Mentalist," Simon Baker's character has things all figured out. He's able to read people, surroundings and situations so well that he can solve crimes.

In real life, Baker, along with most people, was unable to anticipate or make sense of the financial crisis that hit the U.S. in 2008.

His latest film, the financial drama "Margin Call," focuses on a 24-hour window on the eve of the collapse. He plays a banker fighting to keep control. The movie also stars Kevin Spacey, Jeremy Irons and Demi Moore.

The 42-year-old Australian actor says he remembers the general confusion felt by the public during that time.

"It was all over the news and in the papers. ... It was so hard to see people in the position of making those decisions. It was such a gray area, certainly for me. How do they make these decisions? Who's there in the room? Yesterday it was fine and today it's all a mess."

The timing of "Margin Call" coincides with a monthlong protest called Occupy Wall Street in New York City against financial corruption. The protests have spread to cities around the world.

"We're learning sort of every day globally the economy has been so rattled that we aren't over it and it doesn't look like we are going to be over it and I think it's good people are taking a stand and protesting as long as it remains peaceful."

"Margin Call" opens in theaters Friday.

Baker recently directed an upcoming episode of "The Mentalist," which is now in its fourth season. He says it's something he likes to do once a season.

He says it's not difficult to go back to just acting on the series after he's directed an episode.

"I never really turn it off. I just shut up," he jokes. "It still happens in my head."

Baker's also hoping the series will begin to focus more on its supporting cast, but he's undecided as to whether his character should ever become romantically involved with the character of Teresa Lisbon, played by Robin Tunney. Fans of the show have noticed the two have chemistry.

"Maybe. Maybe not. Maybe you'd be like, 'Ew. That's like brothers and sisters kissing each other.' I don't know."

"The Mentalist" airs Thursdays on CBS (10 p.m. EDT).

Paramount Pictures will continue its scary fall tradition with the release of "Paranormal Activity 3,"

2:04 PM |
Paramount Pictures will continue its scary fall tradition with the release of "Paranormal Activity  3," the third installment of the very profitable film franchise. Another newcomer should claim the second spot in the weekend's box office as Summit Entertainment's "The Three Musketeers" in 3-D should slash its way to a $15 million debut.

The original "Paranormal Activity," released in September 2009, caused a sensation when the micro-budgeted film came seemingly out of nowhere and wound up earning nearly $108 million in total domestic revenue. During the same weekend last year, "Paranormal Activity 2" scared a whopping $40.7 million out of audiences in its debut and this third installment should lead the weekend with around $35 million.

"The Three Musketeers" is the latest in a long line of big screen adaptations of the Alexandre Dumas classic beginning with Douglas Fairbanks in 1921. Since then, versions have starred Gene Kelly, Oliver Reed and Charlie Sheen, among others. This this 3-D PG-13 version stars Milla Jovavich and Matthew Macfadyen and should appeal to those looking for a bit of old-school swashbuckling action at the multiplex.

The reigning two week champ, "Real Steel" from Disney, will likely drop to third place in its third weekend of release with around $10 million against a 40 percent drop and a total domestic take of close to $65 million by Sunday night. Hugh Jackman stars in this story of an underdog robot boxing champ that goes back into the ring for a shot at redemption.

Paramount's "Footloose" approaches its second weekend after a second place debut last weekend. Solid numbers have placed it among the top earners in the midweek contest. This remake of the 1984 blockbuster should take fourth place with around $8 million and will finish out the weekend with around $25 million in total revenue.

"Johnny English Reborn," starring British sensation Rowan Atkinson ("Mr. Bean") as a bungling secret agent, is the sequel to the 2003 spy comedy "Johnny English" and is expected to take fifth place with around $7 million. This will pit it against Sony's George Clooney political drama, "The Ides of March," which enters its third weekend in theaters with a very viable shot at a top five finish.

Tyler Perry was honored by the Rev. Al Sharpton's National Action Network

1:58 PM |
Tyler Perry has gotten plenty of criticism from those who feel his popular movies like "Madea's Family Reunion" border on buffoonery and don't reflect well on the black community.

But on Wednesday night, the filmmaker was honored by the Rev. Al Sharpton's National Action Network. The civil rights leader lashed out at Perry's black detractors, calling them "proper Negroes" who don't understand regular black folk.

"This man never apologized for who we were," said Sharpton, who is also a cable TV host, at his second annual Triumph Awards.

Sharpton said Perry has given work to many black actors who have been ignored by Hollywood, and has created an empire on his own terms: "The ultimate pride is where you don't have to bend and adjust for others to accept you. ... He didn't go mainstream, he brought mainstream to us."

Perry was given the Chairman's Award. Also honored: Chris Rock and his wife, Malaak, and California's attorney general, Kamala Harris. Perry — whose films include "Diary of a Mad Black Woman," ''Why Did I Get Married?" and "Daddy's Little Girls" — was recently named by Forbes magazine as the highest-earning man in Hollywood. He writes, directs and produces his films and sometimes stars in them; he's best known for his Madea character, the foul-mouthed, sassy grandmother who has appeared in many of his movies.

He is also responsible for the TBS comedy show "House of Payne."

But Perry's films rarely get critical acclaim, and some in the black community have accused him of perpetuating stereotypes.

Perry acknowledged his detractors as he thanked Sharpton for the award.

"When you start out and you're doing things and you're trying to do the right things, and you find these attacks happening, and you try and figure out, 'How do you handle this? How do you deal with this? How do you go there?' So to have someone like you who has done all that you have done ... and have inspired and encouraged and fought for so many people, to stand here and to give me this award, this is really, really awesome," Perry said.

Perry said black people first gave him success, and he has sought to tell his community's stories. He accused his critics of trying to remove themselves from their roots.

"I stayed with who we are, and what I wish I could get us to understand as a people is that instead of getting your education and running from us, you need to ground and root yourself in who we are. Every other culture in this country knows the value of us as black people but we don't know it ourselves," he said.

"Somebody said to me about the 'House of Payne,' 'Why do you have fat black people on television?' Because there are fat black people in the world. It's not a stereotype. This is who we are, we need to stop running from our parents and our grandparents and our uncles, we need to stop running from them and embrace them."

Perry said his Madea character is silly, but said his films have important messages.

"I have the ear of the people, and I would be a fool to walk away from the gift that God has given me because somebody out there, a few people out there, have a problem with it," he said.

After his speech, Sharpton announced that Perry had given the National Action Network a $200,000 donation, to which Sharpton exclaimed Madea's familiar phrase: "Hallelujer!"

First French president to have a baby in office

1:53 PM |
Proud papa Nicolas Sarkozy, the first French president to have a baby in office, says he and wife Carla Bruni-Sarkozy feel "a very profound happiness" over the birth of their baby girl — the couple's first child together.

Mother and daughter, he added, are doing very well.

After a day of keeping the nation guessing, the first lady announced the baby's name on her website Thursday night: Giulia.

"I'm very touched by the numerous messages of congratulations that are coming in since the birth of our little girl Giulia," Bruni-Sarkozy wrote.

After being unusually coy about the pregnancy, Sarkozy was ready to brag.

"We are lucky to have been blessed by a new arrival," Sarkozy told journalists on a visit Thursday to a waste management plant in western France. "All parents can understand the very profound happiness Carla and I feel, and at the same time everyone can understand that this happiness is all the more profound because it is private."

Privacy was the guiding principle of the baby's hush-hush birth Wednesday. Police officers posted outside the maternity clinic kept journalists at bay, and it was only Sarkozy's frequent visits Wednesday that tipped the news media off as to what was going on inside.

The tight control over news of the birth appears to be part of a strategy aimed at portraying Sarkozy as absorbed in resolving the problems gripping France and Europe.

The eurozone debt crisis took priority over the baby on Wednesday, as Sarkozy jetted off to Frankfurt for a last-minute meeting with the German chancellor while his wife was in labor. He was absent for the child's birth shortly before 8 p.m. (1800 GMT), according to BFM TV, but visited the clinic upon his return to Paris.

Sarkozy also made an early morning visit to the clinic Thursday, ahead of the trip to the waste management plant. Sarkozy was presented with an oak sapling in honor of his daughter.

In a rare interview during her pregnancy, Bruni-Sarkozy vowed to keep her baby out of the spotlight and pledged not to release any photos.

In a letter to Sarkozy, British Prime Minister David Cameron told the French leader that he and his wife Samantha were "thrilled to hear the news." Last year, Samantha Cameron gave birth to a baby girl while her husband was in office.

It was not clear whether Sarkozy's new daughter might help bolster his dismal approval ratings. In France, politicians' private lives have historically remained just that, and people here seemed largely unaffected by news.

"I'm happy for Mr. Sarkozy and his wife, but that's it. It don't care that much, in fact," said Olivier Cottarel said.

Sarkozy is expected to seek a second mandate in presidential elections six months away. However, recent polls put his chief rival, Socialist candidate Francois Hollande, in the lead.

Communication expert Christian Delporte said the baby's birth could be a political boon for Sarkozy or it further damage the already wildly unpopular leader as the presidential campaign heats up ahead of the.

It could "soften his image" and humanize him, Delporte, who heads the Center for Cultural History and Contemporary Societies, told the Le Figaro newspaper. "(But with) the country's suffering, the image of him happy with his wife (and baby) could appear almost indecent."

Still, the birth marked a historic event — the first time a French president has had a child while in office. Sarkozy has also set other benchmarks, being the first French president to divorce and remarry while in office.

Sarkozy and Bruni-Sarkozy, a former supermodel, were wed in a small private ceremony in the Elysee presidential palace in February 2008, less than a year after Sarkozy took office and fewer than four months after his divorce from his second wife, Cecilia Ciganer-Albeniz.

The president has three boys from his two previous marriages, while Bruni-Sarkozy has one son from a prior relationship.

No way Michael Jackson could have caused his own death by swallowing the drug

1:44 PM |
An expert on the powerful anesthetic propofol  told jurors Thursday there was no way Michael Jackson could have caused his own death by swallowing the drug — a theory defense attorneys had at one point indicated could become a centerpiece of their case.

Dr. Steven Shafer, an expert on propofol, said it's impossible for the drug to enter the bloodstream in any sizeable amount if it is swallowed.

He also told jurors it was highly unlikely the singer gave himself a fatal injection of the medication, or swallowed a lethal dose of a sedative.

Coroner's officials determined Jackson died from acute propofol intoxication, and defendant Dr. Conrad Murray has acknowledged giving the singer the drug as a sleep aid.

"The possibility of a direct self-injection seems extremely unlikely," Shafer said, explaining that it would be difficult for Jackson to have time to inject himself based on Murray's timeline of being out of the singer's bedroom only for a few minutes.

Propofol if not mixed with a painkiller is painful, Shafer said. "You would not want to try to inject this into a vein and miss."

He said it was much more likely that Murray gave Jackson a much higher dose of propofol than he told police.

Defense attorneys for Murray said last week they had abandoned the theory that Jackson swallowed propofol. They could begin questioning Shafer later in the day.

Still, the theory was included in a report by their propofol expert, Dr. Paul White, who is expected to testify during the defense case scheduled to being Friday and feature 15 witnesses.

Defense lawyers also have suggested that Jackson swallowed eight lorazepam pills without Murray's knowledge and that may have been enough to kill him.

Shafer, however, said the defense's own testing showed Jackson hadn't swallowed any lorazepam pills in the four hours before his death, and the amount of the medication found in his stomach was "trivial."

Shafer also suggested that Murray probably gave Jackson more of the sedative lorazepam intravenously than he told police.

In addition, prosecutors have said coroner's officials recently conducted tests that showed the levels of lorazepam in Jackson's stomach were far lower than defense attorneys have led jurors to believe.

Regarding oral ingestion of propofol, Shafer on Thursday walked jurors through studies dating back to 1985 on animals and more recently on humans showing propofol that is swallowed wouldn't produce sedation or reach the bloodstream in any sizeable amount.

Murray has pleaded not guilty to involuntary manslaughter. He was Jackson's personal physician for roughly two months before the singer's unexpected death in June 2009.

Shafer told jurors Wednesday that 17 violations of standard practices by Murray each put Jackson's life at risk. Many concerned modern life-saving equipment that Murray lacked when he gave Jackson propofol in the bedroom of his rented mansion, but Shafer said among the cardiologist's worst transgressions was putting his own interests ahead of Jackson.

He compared the Houston-based cardiologist to an employee who wouldn't say no to his boss.

"Saying yes is not what doctors do," he testified.

Shafer, a Columbia University professor and researcher who helped write the guidelines and warnings included with every vial of propofol, repeatedly said Murray's actions were unconscionable, unethical and illegal.

He said Murray's case is unlike any he's ever seen.

"We are in pharmacological never-never land here, something that was done to Michael Jackson and no one else in history to my knowledge," Shafer told jurors.

The professor reminded jurors that Murray had bought more than four gallons of propofol to use on the singer over the course of his employment, talked on the phone in the hours before Jackson's death, and delayed calling 911 when he found the singer unresponsive.

"The worst disasters occur in sedation and they occur when people cut corners," Shafer said. In Jackson's case, "virtually none of the safeguards were in place," he added.

Shafer said he was testifying for the prosecution without a fee because he wants to restore public confidence in doctors who use propofol, which he called a wonderful drug when properly administered.

"I am asked every day in the operating room, 'Are you going to give me the drug that killed Michael Jackson,'" Shafer said. "This is a fear that patients do not need to have."

John Singleton is Suing Paramount Pictures and MTV Films

1:39 PM |
Director and producer John Singleton  is suing Paramount Pictures and MTV Films for at least $20 million, claiming fraud and breach of contract.

In a complaint filed Wednesday in Los Angeles, Singleton claims the studios failed to uphold an agreement connected with the distribution rights to 2005's "Hustle & Flow." The lawsuit claims the studios promised to finance and distribute two future Singleton productions within five years but added restrictions when he submitted the projects.

Paramount said in a statement Wednesday that it "was hoping that John Singleton would produce two more pictures before his agreement with our studio ended in 2010, but that did not happen. Instead, he went on to direct 'Abduction' for Lions Gate."

Singleton is demanding a jury trial. Paramount says the suit has no merit.

Lohan late to first day of community service at morgue

1:05 PM |

Lindsay Lohan arrived late to her first day of community service at the county morgue Thursday and was turned away, another hiccup in the actress' effort to prove to a judge that she is complying with terms of her probation.

Lohan had been told to arrive at 8 a.m. for an orientation session but arrived 40 minutes late, spokesman Craig Harvey said. The actress was told to try again on Friday, but will have to arrive at 7 a.m., he said.

Steve Honig, Lohan's spokesman, said in a statement that the actress was late because she didn't know which entrance to report to and "and confusion caused by the media waiting for her arrival."

The "Mean Girls" star's tardy arrival at the morgue came a day after she was scolded by a judge for being terminated from a community service assignment at a women's shelter. The hearing ended with Lohan's probation being revoked and her being led from court in handcuffs.

She later posted $100,000 bail and was released.

She remains on probation for a pair of drunken driving arrests in 2007 and a misdemeanor theft case filed earlier this year after she was accused of taking a $2,500 necklace without permission. She pleaded no contest in that theft case.

Superior Court Judge Stephanie Sautner ordered Lohan to complete 16 hours of work at the morgue before a Nov. 2 hearing. The judge will determine whether Lohan violated the terms of her probation by being terminated from the Downtown Women's Center after being late several times and not showing up for her service.

The actress had done community service in recent days with the American Red Cross, but Sautner said Lohan would not get credit for that work as part of her court case.

A probation officer noted in a report filed Wednesday that Lohan told her that the work at the shelter was "not fulfilling."

Harvey will be doing mostly janitorial work at the morgue, Harvey said. Her duties will include cleaning and stocking restrooms, mopping floors and washing sheets that the facility uses, he said.

Lohan will have to surrender her cellphone while working at the morgue and will have to bring her own lunch, Harvey said.

Don Jazzy Interview

3:17 AM |
Don Jazzy, Chief Executive Officer of Mo’ Hits Records, speaks with ADEMOLA OLONILUA about his life and career.

A fulfilled dream
I knew I would be relevant in the music industry, but I did not know I was going to end up at the top. I considered the fact that it would take us quite some time to study the market. I was still studying the market at the time. I did not imagine that I was going to study it faster than expected and get to the top. I would say that I feel honoured to be regarded as one of the biggest music producers in Africa. I thank God for that. At the same time, I think it is very difficult to keep up with the name. They say great power comes with great responsibilities. It is hard to keep up with the standard that we have tried to build for ourselves. We pray that God will give us the grace to sustain what we have achieved so far. There is no day that I do not reflect on my life and thank God for everything he has done.

Scandals

I did not get this far without being well informed. I have made it a point of duty to know what is happening in the entertainment industry, especially things that concern the Mo’ Hits family and I. I pay a lot of people to get informed so they wouldn’t leave my side of the story when any issue comes up. I heard about it. I do not think it is wise to respond to what he said. I have said that I would prefer if someone arranges a meeting for both of us. We should have a debate. Let him state his point and we shall debate it. At the end of the day he will still get the publicity that he wants. God sees my heart. I am not vindictive and I have never repaid other people’s kindness to me with evil. I am loyal to a fault and it gets me into trouble sometimes. Sometimes I am loyal to those who don’t even deserve loyalty just because of the good things they have done in the past. I wouldn’t agree if he says I did any bad thing to him. It would be better if we had a public debate. For now, I will take the blame till we have our little ‘get together’. Let me tell you all the things I have heard about myself that is false. I would start from the small ones before the big ones. I have heard that many people think I am over 30 years-old. It is ridiculous. I keep telling them I was born November 26, 1982. I am going to be 29 years old in November. I keep telling them, but they do not believe me. They say that I lied about my age. Maybe it is because my face looks hard. It is that way because I have experienced many things in this life. Also they think I am old because of the name, Don Jazzy. Some people have said I am the son of Enebeli Elebuwa .My name is Michael Collins Enebeli Ajereh. It so happen I have Enebeli in my name. It is a family name. Enebeli Elebuwa, Elebuwa is my father’s friend. My parents re-married when I was about 16 years old and I was the best man. The late Sam Loco was the master of ceremony at the main event, while Mr. Enebeli Elebuwa was the MC at the party because we were not allowed to enter the club at the time. He was my father’s colleague in the movie industry back in those days. Another rumor I heard was the one they said I owe Wande Coal. I do not know how that is possible. I read an article in a newspaper, which said Mo’ Hits record could be seen as a happy record label. We are happy people and we make good music. We move together and we do not respond to negative comments or music intended to insult or taint our image. We don’t want to be a party of that and people take that for granted. Anytime we sit at home, we read all the craps some people are publishing about us. Wande Coal was worried about the matter concerning borrowed money. He came to me and said, ‘Baba look at what they are saying again. They said you owe me money.’ But I told him not to worry about it and if he needed extra money I would give to him. I learned about the illuminati story. Our affiliation with Kanye West, Jay- Z, G.O.O.D music, to me is a good thing. It is a giant step for contemporary African music, especially Nigerian music. It is a big deal for Mo’ Hits record. I have heard they are affiliated with some people. But you do not expect Nigerians and other Africans to simply go there. It is not something we should discuss. I have not heard them discuss it. So it would be awkward to just start asking questions. Maybe when we get closer, we could discuss it. I am not illuminati and D’banj told me he is not too. We are Christians and God has brought us this far. We did not join Ogboni or any other cult group in Nigeria. The latest gossip in town is that D’banj and I were arrested for being in possession of hard drugs. There was a crazy buzz on twitter, blackberry and facebook that we were caught with 100 kilos of cocaine at J.F Kennedy International Airport in New York, USA. I don’t do drugs, I have never done it. I do not know why people actually do that. Any money I have I got through entertainment.

Passion for trendy clothes
At first, I used to dress like 50 cents, with a base ball cap, big t-shirt, and baggy jeans trousers. At some point, I felt that the fez cap was in vogue . Then I moved to something I never saw anybody do before. I like to stand out in a crowd. I decided to wear Indian robes. It is actually the kind of clothes that grooms wear to their wedding ceremonies in India. When I travel to London and Dubai, people greet me and ask if the ‘wedding’ went well. I decided to quit that dress style for a reason. It was because somebody told me on twitter that there was bad news. I asked him what it was about and he said there was somebody else in Enugu nicknamed Don Jazzy because he dressed like me. He said the fellow was caught stealing somewhere and he was set on fire. I was shocked. He said that from what they gathered he was trying to ‘live the life,’ but that the lacked the means to sustain it. It made me realize that we had reached the stage where some Nigerians wanted to be like us. I decided to tone down my dressing in such a way that anybody can afford to look like us. I decided to put on comfortable pants. People call it Pyjamas, but I think it is very comfortable. I can wear it anywhere and it is quite cheap. I bought it for $10. I don’t advise any one to wear it to work. You can wear it when you want to hang out with your friends. I don’t like to mingle in a crowd. So I tend to do things my way. Think differently.

D’banj and the Mo’Hits as spokesmen
I have stopped that now. At first, I was too shy to speak in front of a large crowd because I did not like the sound of my voice. I preferred to sing instead. I used to whisper to D’banj. We tried it once and people liked it. It worked out and we stuck to it. It was a fluke. It’s not as if we planned it. We did it once and Soundcity got it on tape. We saw the result and decided to continue with it. I didn’t have much to say then. Anything I wanted to say D’banj, Wande Coal, Dr. Sid, one of the Mo’ Hits would have said it in an interview. So I decided to shut up. I did not see the need for me to come out and take the shine off an artiste that needs publicity.

How Mo’ Hits made G.O.O.D music happen
D’banj ran into Kanye West in Dubai when he went for a birthday performance. On his way back to Nigeria, he met Kanye West. He asked to be introduced to the American rap star. The latter learnt that D’banj, one of the biggest singers in Africa at present, had collaborated with Snoop Dogg and was poised to break into the international market. He said no problem. We gave him some songs to listen to on an Ipod. He was impressed and when he asked who produced it, he was told that I did. He said he would love to work with us. When to visit New York? We told him we were going to Los Angeles to shoot the video of Mr. Endowed remix. He told us to pass through New York so that we could talk more on the possibility of a joint project. We thought it was a joke or he was one of those celebrities that played people off. We called him up and he said he was serious. Before we knew it, he was introducing us as his new sign-on. He made his intention clear and we told him we appreciated it. We got our lawyers and that was it.

Working with Kanye West
I would say he became my boss when he signed me on to his record label as one of his producers. He said he had many projects in view and he would not be able to handle them all on his own. Also he said he liked the quality of my sound and would love to use it in his work. Already we are working on D’Banj’s next album. Considering the fact that we were already big in Africa, we could not come in as regular artistes. We are more like partners. We have an agreement to release D’banj’s album. They would help us handle the distribution in the rest of the world, while we handle Africa.

About D Prince and his rap style
There is something about talent. Talents were not meant to be shared equally among men, in the first place. D Prince is my brother, I can’t deny that. Although he has a passion for entertainment, he doesn’t have a great voice or the skill to deliver lyrically. Yet, whatever he delivers gets accepted. He has his own audience. It is not every song that would appeal to everyone. The sky is very big for every bird to fly. Those who would listen to him will always do so. He has own followership. Apart from D Prince, everybody in Mo’ Hits does not brag to be the best. We just want to make money and feed our families. It is good enough that people appreciate what we do. We do not want medals for being the greatest lyricists. D’banj is not a great singer, but he is the most successful. Anybody that is complaining now is actually very late because if he is as bad as people say he wouldn’t become as big as he is. There are people out there that like him. We know this. Even within, we make jest of ourselves before other people hear it outside. We know we can not rap, we know we can not sing; but we know we can entertain you in our own way.

Two 17-year-old boys in Bath have found and handed in £5,000 ($7,800) to police.

2:45 AM |

Will Miles and Ryan McClory came upon a briefcase with the sum in £50 notes at a bus station.

The briefcase also included passports and letters from the University of Bath.

Miles told The Bath Chronicle: "We were a bit shocked when we saw all the money in the case. We didn't know exactly how much it was, but we could tell it was a large amount."

The A-Level students gave the briefcase to two police officers and were later told that the owner - who had intended to use the money to pay for his son's university tuition and accommodation fees - had claimed the money back.

McClory added: "I was pleased when I got the phone call saying he had the case back. It is a lot of money to have lost, and so I'm glad that we managed to get it back to him."

The teenagers were praised by local police for their "honesty and integrity". They received no reward for handing in the money.

Sharon Osbourne has revealed that she recently had her breast implants removed.

2:22 AM |

Osbourne returned to The Talk on Thursday after a hiatus to explain the she took the break, in part, because she needed to have surgery.

"I went and had my implants taken out… I've been talking about it for ages. I was going to have them put as paper weights for Ozzy. But one morning I woke up and one of my boobies was kind of much longer than the other. So I'm like looking and thinking, 'Well this isn't right'," Osbourne said.

She continued: "I went to a fabulous surgeon and she said to me, 'That's leaking, that boob there is leaking'. So I went and had them taken out and it (silicone) had leaked into the wall of my stomach.

"So [to those that are] saying those silicones are lovely, not when it's floating over the wall of your stomach, it's not! So I went and had them all done."

Osbourne went on to insist that she feels as if a weight has been lifted since undergoing the procedure.

"This is all me. I don't feel like I have a waterbed laying on my chest anymore," she joked.

The Talk panelists Leah Remini and Holly Robinson Peete recently exited the daytime talk series after just one season.

Former Saturday Night Live star Molly Shannon and Kris Jenner have filled in as guest hosts since The Talk kicked off its second season in September.

The Talk airs weekdays at 2pm ET and 1pm PST on CBS.

Rowan Atkinson has ruled out a return for his comic alter ego Mr Bean.

2:17 AM |

Rowan Atkinson has ruled out a return for his comic alter ego Mr Bean.

The Johnny English: Reborn actor believes that his take on the popular character, who he once described as "a child in a grown man's character", would not be convincing anymore.

"I've always regarded Mr Bean as an ageless, timeless figure," he told Radio 1's Newsbeat, echoing previous comments he made about the comic creation.

"I don't want him to particularly grow old, and if I carry on playing him then he's going to get older, whether we like it or not. I would like to remember Mr Bean how he was five or ten years ago."

The 56-year-old revealed last week that he is open to the possibility of reviving Blackadder.

Atkinson played Mr Bean in a series of one-off stories between 1990 and 1995 on ITV. Released in 2007, the film Mr Bean's Holiday was the franchise's last outing.

Ex-Gladiators star Jem Palmer has joined her sister Faye in the Big Brother house

2:15 AM |
Ex-Gladiators star Jem Palmer has joined her sister Faye in the Big Brother house.

The 25-year-old model appeared under the name Inferno on Sky1's action gameshow and is signed to World Wrestling Entertainment.

She pledged in an introductory VT to "go into the house and change things up", later adding to host Brian Dowling that the current contestants need "a big slap around the chops".

"I'm quite a fiery person anyway," she claimed. "So I'm just going to be myself and give them a shake up."

Jem also warned that Faye could "kick off" upon her entrance into the house, due to the "big rivalry" between them.

However, Faye's joy at seeing her sibling join the cast was clear for all to see, as she raced up the stairs, pulled her into a tight embrace and squealed at the top of her voice.

Faye was also quick to introduce Jem to her in-house love interest Aaron Allard-Morgan. The bodybuilding newcomer graciously shook his hand, despite stating before her entrance that she intends to get "under his skin".

Maisy James became the fourth person to be evicted from the Big Brother house on Friday night's show.
