The Music Copyright Society of Kenya (MCSK) boss, Maurice Mwande Okoth has followed his heart by abandoning Christianity for Islam.

Following his conversion at the Kilmani Mosque, Maurice Okoth now Mahmoud Okoth expressed his excitement  saying ‘I have got myself a silver ring to match the white Gold wedding band’. He also told some of his friends why he had to make such sacrifice for his Khadija ‘I truly love her and want to spend the rest of my life with her’.

The Chief Executive Officer of MCSK tied the knot with the love of his life, former Miss Kenya, Shamilla Khadija Kiptoo at a small poolside wedding in his leafy sub-urban home in Nairobi last weekend.

Okoth is a Certified Public Secretary (CPS) and an expert in the field of copyright and related rights. With him as the CEO of MCSK, the organisation has grown from barely 600 members in 2005 to over 7,000 to date with several of its members earning millions of shillings in royalties.
